You've got to be thinking "hmm, George Clooney and Matt Damon in an action movie... has to be good" right? WRONG. If you need a two hour nap, watch this movie. Besides two explosions (one in the first five minutes, the other near the end), there's not much to talk about.
The true point of this movie was to give light on the corruption circle of the oil industry. The story follows five main characters as they do their own corrupt business. The problem is that it keeps switching between these characters, whose connections are very weak at times. Even at the end it is hard to determine just who knew what about the other characters. This switching also caused very little character development. The only true development can be seen with Bryan Woodman (Matt Damon).
The technical aspects of the movie were done well, but it paled in comparison to the lack of entertainment. Just read a summary of this movie, because it's not worth watching it for two hours to get the message. Besides, most of the stuff in the movie is common knowledge anyway, so it's not a significant movie at all.
I am disappointed with Clooney in his role, but his beard looked alright. His character should have been developed a lot more because he was a crucial person in the movie, but there's no room to do that with four other stories going on at the same time. This movie had potential, but it missed its mark.
