Reflection
The occupation of a technology facilitator in education is one that is still new, and is constantly changing and developing as these types of educastors are becoming more prevalent.  Since there is no clear cut job description for technology facilitator, the individual has the power to implement his or her vision for which direction the district should move towards regarding technology implementation.  Many times, these visions are bold, and include a lot of change for the teachers in the district.  Those technololgy facilitators that will be successful in implementing these visions are the type of individual who will work hard to provide many opportunities for teachers and administrators to be involved in the process.  These certain individuals will also be the go between the administration, the technology department, and the teachers to ensure that the proper funds are secured, the equipment has the proper support, and that the teachers are properly trained in using it.  The article review reflects this idea, giving technology facilitators strategies to implement a technology rich leaning environment in a district.

Artifact # 1 was a project I had to complete for my technology facilitator class, where we were given the situation of being a technology facilitator in a district with a brand new building.  We had to research what technology we would implement, including pricing and rationales.  Artifact # 2 illustrates my own vision for the district I currently work in.  My vision is to increase the teachers' knowledge and use of videoconferencing as a learning tool.  As part of my thesis study, I provided a professional development for the teachers in my district to learn how to implement videoconferencing into the science curriculum.  I also scheduled and supervised a videoconference for each teacher's class to communicate with a diver from the Great Barrier Reef in Australia, as part of our curriculum to teach about invertebrates.  As technology facilitators , it is our responsibility to share our vision with the teachers in the district, and to use our leadership schools to effectively make our dreams a reality.
