| Similar to a classroom teacher, the Technology Facilitator wears many hats to complete one job. The linked article review explains how the Technology Facilitator is a technician, teacher, school specialist, administrator, and district curriculum specialist all in one. This standard describes the main few roles this individual takes on in implementing technology into the curriculum. In order to do so effectively, a relationship must be built between the Technology Facilitator, the teacher, and the students. Each component of this team is integral to the effective use of technology in the curriculum. The Technology Facilitator is responsible to collaborate with the classroom teacher to infuse technology into the teacher's current lessons. In doing so, the Technology Facilitator must stay abreast of which current trends in educational technology would best suit the needs of the students. He or she is then responsible for passing this knowledge on to the teacher, and coteaching these skills to the students. Artifact 1 is a presentation on a specific assistive technology, and how it can be effectively implemented in the classroom for special needs students. The second artifact illustrates how the Technology Facilitator can infuse current trends, such as UnitedStreaming, into the curriculum through professional development to the teachers. Artifact 2 is a presentation on a workshop I taught on UnitedStreaming. Both artifacts display the role of the Technology Facilitator as a teacher and school specialist, two of the many hats of the profession. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||
