Day 6

Knysna

This town has superb natural beauty and the main road reveals art galleries, coffee shops, furniture shops, etc.  The morning was spent visiting Knysna Head, which mark the mouth of the Knysna Lagoon.  The lagoon is popular for bird watching, fishing and diving.  In the evening, the tide was low and we were able to walk from one tip to the other tip of the lagoon.

We drove to Plettenberg Bay and this is one of the Garden’s Route most alluring coastal resorts.  The rugged Outeniqua and Tsitsikama Mountains form the backdrop and the beauty was beyond description.  Lookout Beach was a paradise with while sandy beaches.  We explored a little further to see the impressive 450-m long Bloukrans Bridge, the longest concrete bridge in Africa..  Bungy-jumping at Boulkran Bridge is also the world’s highest commercial Bungy jump at 216m.

After a walk at the lagoon, we washed up and had our dinner at an Italian restaurant called Mamma.  Highly recommended for their homemade pastas and the thin-crusted pizza were delicious! We retired early for the night as we were tired and also we had to get up early the next day for Ocean Safari.
