*One of the experiments that I have tried is the "Trac-Ball" experiment, the experiment is really simple and the experiments allow you to see how a curve ball actually takes its path and curve.*
Purpose: To demonstrate how a curve ball curves
Description: By placing either a styrofoam ball or ping-ping (styrofoam seemed to work better) at the bottom end of the track. By throwing the ball, while keeping the track vertical, one can see the ball deflect up.
Materials: -ping-pong/styrofoam ball -"Trac-ball" set
Comments/Suggestions: - might not see it deflect the first couple of times, need lots of practice - make sure its not too windy outside
*Of course, this might still not work sometimes, if you really want to see a curve ball, my suggestion is you actually throw one. The link here is a web page that shows you how to throw a curve ball as well as other pitches. |
