“On-line Information System”
- for Placement Cell at IIT Guwahati

Brief: The aim was to propose and design an online information system to replace the old static system of notice boards, to ensure effective online communication and a common platform for availing necessary information.

System was optimized using Object Oriented Modelling techniques like Use Case Diagrams, Interaction Diagrams, Activity Flowcharts, and Class Diagrams to develop the working prototype (GUI) for web-platform.

Methodology: The problem was recognized as a system dessign problem and was initiated with the classical approach to system analysis and design. The present system of Placement Procedure was studied and modifications were proposed by developing zeroth level and first level Data Flow Diagrams.

The system was then optmised using Unified Modeling Language (UML) to finally come up with the actions and task to be performed by the Placement Information System.

With the help of analysis based on the UML Diagrams final wireframe of around 60 HTML pages for the information system of the Placement Cell at IIT Guwahati was created on web. The complete web based system will be uploaded soon or can be provided on request.
