“Conversation with Cheshire Cat -An Interactive Storytelling”
Guide: Professor Pradeep Yammiyavar
Duration: 4 months (August-November'07)

Keywords: Storytelling, Immersive Environments, Speech Interaction
Brief: The aim was to develop an interactive conversation of the user with a character from the story in form of a human-machine conversation to enhance the experience of story telling.
A scene from the famous western book Alice 's Adventures in Wonderland' by Lewis Carroll is taken for the analysis, where Alice (as user) talks to the Cheshire Cat, a character from the story.
Various issues associated with the orthodox and modern way of storytelling were studied and the new possible method of interactive human-conversation in an augmented environment was proposed.
The final prototype of the conversation of the user with the the cat is built using the CSLU Toolkit, developed by the Center for Spoken Language Research at University of Colorado, Boulder (http://cslr.colorado.edu). The CSLU Toolkit file will be uploaded soon or can be provide on request.
