I worked as a project member for the project ALICE (http://www.alice.id.tue.nl/), a confidential research project under Professor Matthias Rauterberg (http://www.idemployee.id.tue.nl/g.w.m.rauterberg/), funded by Microsoft Research Labs, Cambridge UK , at the Technical University of Eindhoven (TU/e), The Netherlands (http://w3.id.tue.nl/en/), working as a full time project member for this period, taking active part in both the design and implementation of the proposals.

The project is about a new field in Human Computer Interaction (HCI), proposed as "Cultural Computing" by Professor Rauterberg. The project touched almost all part of HCI, from cultural psychology to moden technical implementations like Augmented Reality and Artificial Intelligence. I was involved as an active member of the project team, contributing in the discussion directing the project to its goals. Later on I took up the part of the project where I have to develope an intelligent system that can carry natural language conversation of the user with a virtual agent, keeping in mind the goals of the system.

 

Reset Media, Mumbai

Duration: 6 weeks (May-July'05)
Role: Trainee Web Developer

I worked as a trainee web-developer at Reset India, Mumbai, being involved in direct client contact, and suggesting solutions. The work involved planning and implementation of web-development on the ground of client requirements. Developed the websites for clients SeeInfobyz “ http://www.seeinfobiz.com ”, and Epsilon Auto Mumbai “ http://www.epsilonauto.com ” as final outcomes.

It was my first experience as a professional employee other than the usual academic works. I learned the practical aspects of web development by implementing the basic design principals like colour theory and information hierarchy. The internship helped me, learnig the basic web development tools like Macromedia Dreamweaver, HTML, CSS, Flash and basic Java Script more iffectively. I also learned the basics of impletation of Information Architecture in different websites.

 

Bajaj Tempo Limited, Pithampur, Indore

Purpose: Industrial Visit
Organization: Bajaj Tempo Plant, Pithampur, Indore
Duration: 2 weeks (May'04)

The purpose was to gain practical hands on knowledge of various types of manufacturing and assembly processes involved during automobile manufacturing. The plant is one of the major Utility and Transport Vehicle producers in the central India.
