This yet another e-mail sent by people who were stranded in Moncton for several days at the Moncton Coliseum as a result of the terrorist attacks on the United States. Again, I share this with all of you, in order to share my pride in being a Monctonian. Click below if you would like to read some of the other e-mails the Mayor of Moncton has received from grateful flight passengers who spent time in Moncton.

Subject: Thank you to Moncton
Dear Mr Murphy,
I would like to say how grateful I am to all the people who were so kind,
generous and looked after us so well whilst we were stranded in Moncton
last week:
.....I was so well fed that I discovered that I had gained weight
.....I needed to clean my teeth and someone comes with toothbrush, toothpaste, comb etc!
.....Cold inside the Coliseum, socks were given......Too hot outside, the hats appeared.
.....Needed somewhere to sleep, Dr Monique Le Blanc, Christian and their daughter Chloe took us to their house, where we were made to feel very welcome.
I did not know of Moncton before but after seeing the area from the plane
and on the ground I would certainly like to go back and spend more time
touring - under better circumstances!
Please forward my THANKS to all the Red Cross volunteers and to those who
donated telephones, food, drinks, hats, socks, toiletries, transportation,
accommodation and to the Coliseum management for letting us use their
building. Sorry you had to cancel the games.
With sincere thanks
Joanna Brown
