This yet another e-mail sent by people who were stranded in Moncton for several days at the Moncton Coliseum as a result of the terrorist attacks on the United States. Again, I share this with all of you, in order to share my pride in being a Monctonian. Subject: Thank you Moncton
My wife and I would like to express our gratitude and thank the Citizens,
business community and The Red Cross for all they did to welcome us on
Tuesday 11th September when our Flight to Washington was diverted to your
beautiful City.
It was a most harrowing experience for us but to find so much compassion
and generosity from total strangers was heart-warming. We had the good
fortune to be taken into the home of Rene and Anne-Marie of Fairview
Drive. Their neighbour Ken helped keep our spirits up for which we thank
him most sincerely. These people gave us food and a warm bed for three
days. Their home was ours, generosity far beyond anything we expected. We
were able to contact our daughters and family who were longing to hear
from us. They spared no expense to ensure our well being while we were
with them. Rene was in contact with the Airport and Coliseum at all times
day and night for three days and disrupted his business for us. These good
citizens shall not be forgotten.
We were able to come home to our family and although our family in
Baltimore were disappointed we could not visit them we must humble
ourselves and remember some passengers may have lost loved ones. For this
we are grateful.
God Bless Moncton and God Bless America.
From Colin and Linda Woodman Flight BA2143.
