Parenting
is an exhausting and difficult job. It is a gigantic
responsibility that requires much energy and patience.
Life would be
simple if children did everything we asked, but that is not reality.
Parenting is often hard work.
There are also
rewards for all of this hard work. One of the sweetest is to have
your young child voluntarily tell you that they love you. Your
children are your legacy to the world, so treat them with care.

Discipline.
Discipline is often
a difficult issue for parents. I have compiled some articles on
this rather sensitive issue.

Anger.
Children
feel angry and they need us to show them how to cope with that
anger. It is not an easy task to help a child control their anger,
however it is one of the most common tasks that we, as parents, must
do. I have included an article by Dr. Scoresby that I have found
helpful.

Development
Every
parent wonders if their child is developing appropriately. It is
hard not to compare children, however it is imperative that we do not,
because each child is a unique individual and will therefore develop at
a unique and individual pace. I have included a GUIDELINE
for the stages
of development by age. Please remember that these are just a Guideline
and in no way is indicative of every child.

Whining .
One of
the most annoying things that pretty much EVERY child does or has done,
is whine. "...but Mon/Dad everybody else is..." is a
familiar line to you if you are a parent, and if you are anything like
me that whining is enough to drive you nuts!! I abhor whining and
I am learning to teach my kids not to whine. A book that I am
reading that is helping me with this rather gargantuan undertaking is
called Win
the Whining Wars.
I have
included an article that I also found helpful.
