Touch a Truck Day
![]() |
Touch a Truck Day is a special event for the children of Norman, Oklahoma and the surrounding areas in central Oklahoma and a fundraiser for the Children's Section of the Norman Public Library. Geared for children of all ages, Touch a Truck Day enables them to get in or on their favorite vehicles and meet the people who make those vehicles run. |
Children will have the opportunity to get in their favorite vehicles, including a crane, hot air balloon, fire engine, garbage truck, a mobile bank, semi-truck, school bus, recreational vehicle, utility bucket truck, a range of construction vehicles and many others. Perhaps more importantly, children will get the chance to meet the everyday heroes who operate the vehicles and learn more about the important work they do for our community.
When: Saturday, April 25, 2009, from 9 a.m. to noon
Where: Cleveland County Fairgrounds, located at 615 E. Robinson in Norman, Oklahoma
Cost: To ensure Touch a Truck Day is accessible to people of all income levels, we suggest a donation of only two dollars ($2) per child. No child, however, is ever denied admission because of lack of funds. Proceeds go to benefit the Norman Public Library.
