The
aim of ORMTA is to encourage and provide the highest calibre of musical education
possible and to promote high standards of music in each community. To become
a Registered Music Teacher (RMT), one must hold a degree or diploma from a recognized
university or conservatory, or meet the necessary qualifications set down by
the registering province, thus ensuring a high level of training and a commitment
to professionalism.
Me receiving the
citation award for the 1999-20000 citation scrapbook.
It also enables my students to attend and perform
at the concerts and performances of the ORMTA. As well students of O.R.M.T.A.
members are eligible for scholarships and awards that the association has
to offer.
I was the scrapbook editor for ORMTA for 5 years,
and along with the help of the association we recieved the Citation Award
for the 1999-2000 scrapbook. I have recently taken on the job of maintaining
the O.R.M.T.A. website. If you would like to learn more about the association
and find out what activities are planned, click on the O.R.M.T.A. logo above
and have a look at their website.
Being
a member of the Ontario Registered Music Teacher's Association enables me to
attend many music workshops to aid in my teaching as well as staying in touch
with other piano teachers and to keep current with the latest teaching ideas
and resources.
