The first Hokage of the Hidden Leaf Village is extremely strong. Shodaime, and his brother Nidaime (the 2nd Hokage) trained the current Hokage, Sarutobi (the 3rd) to what he is today... though they both died early in their leadership leaving Sarutobi to train himself.One of the Jutsus that only Shodaime knows is Forest Genesis, where he feeds his chakra to the surrounding plant life making them large and strong and to trap his opponents.When Orochimaru resurrects Shodai in Zaku's body, he is forced to battle his student, Sarutobi. Sarutobi manages to place a seal on him which traps the soul in the "belly of death" where there's no escape... however Sarutobi dies as well.
The Second Hokage is the younger brother of the First Hokage, Shodaime. He, along with his brother, founded the Hidden Leaf Village. After Shodaime stepped down from being Hokage, Nidaime became the next Hokage. He has very powerful water jutsus (even when there was no water). Some of his attacks include Water Dragon Blast Skill, Water Formation Wall, and Water Wave. He was Sarutobi (3rd Hokage's) main teacher.When Orochimaru resurrects Nidaime and Shodaime, Kin Tsuchi houses Nidaime's soul. After being turned into a killing machine, he fights his former student. Sarutobi finally places a seal on both him and Shodai that their souls go to the "belly of death" which no one can escape.
Sarutobi sensei is almost like a kind grandfather to the villagers of
the Leaf. He was chosen to be the 3rd Hokage when he was just a child by
the 1st and 2nd Hokages. He goes by the nickname of "Professor" for
learning over a thousand jutsus. Some says he's the most powerful Hokage
when he was in his prime.
After the 4th Hokage was chosen, Sandaime decided to retire. He was
however forced out of retirement when Yondaime sacrificed himself while
protecting the Village against the Kyuubi.
Even at the age of 68, Sarutobi still intended to be the Hokage for
another 5 years or more. But his life was rudely interrupted by his
former favourite student Orochimaru, who lost a screw after he wasn't
chosen to be the 4th Hokage. Vengeful against the Leaf which exiled him,
he came back to destroy the village and to kill his teacher. Sandaime
was killed in the battle with Orochimaru and the 1st and 2nd Hokage
(which Orochimaru brought back to life to aid his fight). Before he
died, he took away the use of Orochimaru's hands.
The Fourth Hokage was the one who sealed the spirit of the Nine Tailed Fox inside of Naruto. In sealing the demon he gave his life and the Third Hokage came out of retirement to take his place. His real name has yet to be mentioned in either the Anime or the Manga, but it is seen written in Japanese on the summoning contract that Naruto signs to call forth Gamabunta.The Fourth Hokage was taught by Jiraiya; the Fourth Hokage was also the one who trained Kakashi who is the sensei of Sasuke, Sakura, and Naruto. It was previously unknown who the teammates of Kakashi were that also trained under the Fourth Hokage, but later it's revealed that they are Uchiha Obito, and Rin. By his appearance, there is a rumor among the show's fans that the Fourth Hokage could be Naruto's father. There is also a theory that the Fourth Hokage may be the Akatsuki leader, though this is highly unlikely, especially considering that he is supposed to be dead.
Quoted by Shikamaru's father to be the strongest and most beautiful
of women, Tsunade is the 5th Hokage of the Village of the Leaf. The
Godaime title was originally offered to Jiraiya, who turned it down and
brought Naruto to hunt down Tsunade to take up the job. Before they
found Tsunade, Orochimaru proposed a trade with Tsunade - to bring her
little brother and boyfriend, both who died during the Ninja wars, back
to life, if she would heal his arms so he could continue to destroy the
Konoha. Tsunade was thus torn between seeing her loved ones again and
protecting her village. She seemed to have chosen the former but
fortunately for Konoha, Naruto reminded her of her dreams and her
brother and boyfriend's dreams. So Tsunade beat the up Orochimaru and
returned to the Village with Naruto and Jiraiya to be the 5th
Hokage.Besides being the Hokage, Tsunade also has another nickname - The
Legendary Sucker, for always losing in gambling. She is also vain as she
uses a special technique to conceal her age so she could look young.
