We grew up with quite a few animals - chickens, turkeys, geese, ducks, cats, dogs, goats. We even had wild baby rabbits and quail.
As an adult, I've always had cats and at the moment we have five of them, all girls. They are all from the one mother cat (Nana) which we still have. We're not sure whether she was dumped or if she strayed in from somewhere but I gradually caught the kittens and had them 'fixed'.
My Cats
Here are some photos of the cats. Not good ones - just what I had quickly. The two ginger ones are Nana's offspring, and the other two are one each from them.
Other Pets
We haven't just had cats; we've also had rats and frogs.Rats are great little pets. There was one in our daughter's classroom at primary school and I was a little perturbed when picking her up one day after school to find her at the gate with this rat in its cage! We ended up with it after a while when it began nipping at the classroom children - they'd keep disturbing it when it wasn't in the mood.
They live for only about 3 years and over a few years we gave a home to four more.
