WELCOME
Hello and welcome to my homepage. My name is Mark
Allamong. I'm from the eastern panhandle of West Virginia...I now live in the
mountains of Giles County in southwestern Virginia. My interests are too diverse
for me to dedicate a homepage to any single topic. I've thrown a few things
together that I've taken a "shine" to over the years. I hope to
continue adding to this page as time permits. Here's what I have to offer,
hopefully someone will get some benefit from this mess! If you enjoy this page,
or even if you didn't, please let me know. Thanks for stopping by!
This webpage was massively updated in January
2005. If you find something that
doesn’t work, please email me and let me know.

Words cannot express the loss I felt when John
Denver was killed in a plane crash on October 12, 1997. I grew up with his music.
I'm happy to say that I was able to see him in concert four times, and was
present when he dedicated the new football stadium at West Virginia University.
John's
intense love of the outdoors knew no bounds...his unique voice, captivating
lyrics, and beautiful music will be with us forever. In October, 1997, my best
friend, Jerry Biser, and I spent several days deep in the mountains of West
Virginia...we sat there by the fire and watched the evening
tire..talking...reflecting on life..the things that we believed in..all the
things we'd done and where we'd been..and had our own memorial to John
Denver.."Take us home, Country Roads".

Music
paints pictures and often tells stories, some of it magic, some of it true.
And all of the pictures and all of the stories, all of the magic, the music is
you.

A THOUGHT
The Master paused for a moment, and in the darkness created
beauty.
Surely, He of infinite wisdom intended His creations to somehow find the light
and in someway, get to those who would appreciate their peculiar
beauty.........B.F. Butler
Written by my Grandaddy, Benjamin F. Butler, a
West Virginia artist that had the imagination and talent to make use of many of
the peculiar things that Mother Nature has to offer. Grandaddy passed
away in 1991...he was my best friend...his death has left a tremendous void in
my life. Sometimes when I'm working with his tools, I can sense his
presence.- like he's watching over my shoulder ...it's kinda spooky sometimes.

This site has been visited once or
twice since I created it in September 1997.
