CNC Router - The Build Continues
(2/6/2005)

The MDF machine build is moving ahead.  The base is complete except for attaching the stepper motor and lead screw.  The base and gantry have been painted.  The X-axis has also been glued up and painted with black, hammered-finish paint.

In addition to all the painting and gluing, the rails for the Y-axis have been installed and squared up.  They are now ready and waiting for the gantry to be installed and adjusted.  Once that is done, I will install the X-axis rails and the X-axis.  Then all that will be left is to build the Z axis, install and adjust it, and hook up the electronics.
Base with rails (1" galvanized pipe) sitting on a tub.  Some sort of stand will be built.
Gantry in hammered-black paint.  That stuff is good at covering mistakes!

X-axis.  I did a little playing with the 1/4" roundover bit and trim router...
