District Nazim Malakand Engineer
Mohammad Hamayun Khan is the son of the late federal and provincial
minister Mohammad Hanif Khan. He belongs to an respectable
political family of Dheri Jolagram village in Malakand. He
was born on 11 February 1964 at Dheri Jolagram. He did his
Matriculation and FSC from Cadet College, Kohat and then went
to University of Engineering and Technology, Peshawar where
he completed his further acadimics. He ontained a degree in
civil engineering from the said University and was posted
as Sub-Divisional Officer in the Communication and Works Department
NWFP.
In
1993 his Father Mohmmad Hanif Khan died of heart attack during
the election campaign. After the death of his father, it became
difficult for Engineer Mohammad Hamayjn Khan to continue his
government service. His father was eminent politician from
the Pakistan People's Party forum and his supporters were
not few but he was the main figure in the ploitical history
of PPP in general and Malakand in particular. This situation
forced Hamayun Khan to resign from the post of SDO and started
his political life following the footprints of his late father.
In
the July 2001, the local bodies elections were held in which
Engineer Mohammad Hamayun Khan was elected as District Nazim
and took oath as District Nazim on 15th of August 2001.
