| Every build must start with a foundation so here we go. I knew I wanted a IFS system because I wanted a modern ride, disc brakes and power steering. There are many options out there, the most popular being Mustang II, GM clips, and the volare. I choose the volare due to the expense and ease of install. You don't have to cut your frame as you do with the GM clips, you just notch the frame and slide the volare clip in the notch and weld. Its just that simple. Plus, you have some ride height ajustibility with the torsion bars, and your front sheet mounting is still intact, unlike the with a GM clip. I wanted the Mustang II but the expense is want made me not choose that IFS. Its the easierf then all of them to install correctly, and you have so much after market shiney stuff.lol . I found an 87 5th Ave (same as the volare) at the boneyard and took it home (it unbolts from the donor). Here is what it looks like. |
