I went to a Truck Show and got my mind blown. At the show they had all these nice trucks with air bags. You can't bag a volare clip so I have no choice but to start over. I don't think I'm going to bag it right now but I want the option. Since I'm at the beginning of my build I think I better do it now. So here are my choices.
1. I can cut the volare out and fix the frame rails and install a Mustang II
2. Cut the frame at the fire wall and install a GM clip.
3. Try to find another 55-59 Chevy 1/2 Ton frame and do a Mustang II installation.
Well, options 1 and 2 seemed to be too much trouble. So I started looking for another 55-59 frame because I knew a guy who wanted the volare because he didn't care about airbags plus he like the install and had volares in the past and loved the ride. So the deal was if I find a frame the volare is his. As luck would have it I found a nice straight untouched frame through the recycler for $100 bucks. The guy I bought it from had done a GM Clip for the first time and had this frame just in case he messed up. I'm glad he didn't mess up.lol The volare went to the other guy for the price of the new frame plus the towing it to me. He got a hell of a deal.
I guess I well be buying that expensive Mustang II unit after all.
