December 2002
The repeater is back on air after cleaning & repairing the rat damage. A rebuilt PA (ex commercial UHF TV driver amp) is giving a much stronger signal. Several Amatuers have been on air after the a few months downtime. A meeting at Michael ZL1ABS house saw a new 23cm beam fitted up a 5 metre pole.

July
From Quentin ZL1QF:
RATS, Ch39 off air.
Yes, big'uns all in our ATV rack. 1QF and 1VWM had to kick em out- around
five of them! I did manage to toss one out the door and it hit the car
then ran off!
I have temp decommissioned the atv repeater and brought all the units back to clean them. Tonight they all got a good dose of ammonia Handy- Andy.(not the rats worst luck!).
TV will be off untill we mount a clean up expedition to clean the rack and floor.
The beacons have not been affected and are still running. Actually the tv
repeater was ok and the fault was a broken coax between the driver unit and
PA stage. Possibly our little friends had knocked it about. Luckily alot of
sealed units had helped the units withstand being piddled on!
Now the whole TV repeater is at 1qf's shack some work will be done on some
parts that need attention.
Keeping u uptodate,
73 zl1qf.
