Casey Latta
Recently
4 year old Casey Latta of East Rochester was diagnosed with Stage 4 Cancer.
She is currently being treated with chemotherapy at Akron Children's Hospital.
Apparently the cancer is attacking many areas of her body including her
bones, kidneys and her aorta. Although the cancer is very aggressive,
family members and friends are very hopeful. Darla Berry, a close
friend to Casey's family says, "She is such a fighter, if anyone can beat
this, Casey can."
Casey
has a very adorable one year old sister and her family is also expecting
twins to be born in just a few weeks. Anyone interested in making
a contribution to this family, please contact Brandy at 330-868-6477 for
more information. Our prayers are with you Casey!

Kaylee M. Wasmire
Eight
month old Kaylee M. Wasmire of Homeworth is battling ERB'S Palsy or Brachial
Plexus Injury.
WHAT IS ERB'S PALSY?
A brachial plexus injury
(Erb's Palsy) is a nerve injury. The nerves that are damaged control muscles
in the shoulder, arm, or hand. Any or all of these muscles may be paralyzed.
Children with brachial plexus injuries are affected in different ways.
Here are some examples:
-
Some children have no muscle
control and no feeling in the arm or hand.
-
Some children can move their
arms, but have little control over the wrist and hand
-
Other children can use their
hands well but cannot use the shoulder or elbow muscles.
-
The child's disability depends
on which nerves are injured and how severely they have been damaged.
Unfortunately treatment is not
available in any local hospital. Kaylee and her family must seek
treatment in a Houston, Texas Hospital. To help with the cost of
doctors, hospital bills and travel, the Homeworth Lions Club is sponsoring
a:
