Mike says they met at our local 7-11 when he worked there as a manager, but I jokingly say that Chona  was a mail order bride. Mike went thru a lot of red tape to bring them to the U. S legally. Melissa is a US citizen but Chona must work to get her citizenship. and that's pretty cool. she is a real nice lady. I love hearing about the Philippines and how life was over seas.

It was pretty cool to find out that Mike had to pay a dowry for his wife, it was $1000.00 Paso's or $20.00 American bucks. hahaha he could have paid with a chicken or a goat also hahaha. but for real, I guess $20 is a pretty good price for a wife, hahaha.

Mike even had to bribe the justice of the peace to perform the wedding, it is neat about different places to think that for a simple wedding that a judge would request a bribe flat out.

nine months later Melissa was born. and on Jan 19th 2003 Melissa and Chona came home to the USA to live.
