After a grueling trip to Rose-Hulman in Terre Haute, IN for the 2003 SCAC Conference Tournament, the Millsaps Majors brought home the conference title as well as a bid to the Division III NCAA Regional Tournament!! 2002 SCAC Conference Tournament |

|

The 2002 SCAC Conference Tournament was hosted by Millsaps College at Smith Wills Stadium in Jackson, MS. To make it to the conference tournament, a team must finish in the top 3 of their side of the division. Oglethorpe, DePauw, and Rose-Hulman attended the tournament from the Eastern Division, while Trinity, Southwestern, and Millsaps attended from the Western Division. This year's conference tournament champion was the Pirates from Southwestern University. |

Majors Drafted to the Majors |
|
|
|
Though Millsaps College competes in NCAA Division III athletics, the college has contributed a few of its own baseball players to the Major Leagues. A 1932 graduate of Millsaps, Claude Passeau went on to play for the Detroit Tigers farm team, the Pittsburgh Pirates, Philadelphia Phillies, and the Chicago Cubs. With the Cubs, Passeau went on to pitch a one-hit shutout in the 1945 World Series, one of the best pitching performances in World Series history. In more recent years, Millsaps players Greg Raffo, Kirk Kinard, and Pete Austin have been drafted. Raffo was drafted in 1991 by the Detroit Tigers, Kinard in 1996 by the Arizona Diamondbacks, and Austin in 1997 by the Pittsburgh Pirates. |
