The sector of trenches where the remains of two German soldiers have been found. This place is situated to the South of Riga, where the fights took place in the end of Summer 1944.

We managed to find only one identifying medal made of ferrous metal, it went to pieces in our hands. Regretfully, there are no  other possibilities of identification.

The soldiers died not in the place where they were found. They were buried here in this trench presumably by local people.

On of them had a helmet of Model 1940, the other - presumably of Model 1935, that was found in the same trench 5 meters away from the place of the soldiers' remains finding.

The both soldiers are not young - condition of  teeth, presence of removable denture and tooth crown made of yellow metal  witnesses to this fact.

The remains were thoroughly collected and will be buried as unknown on one of the German Military Cemeteries in Latvia.

Дождливое лето  2000

Участок, окопов, в котором оказались останки двух немецких солдат.  Находится  к югу от г. Риги, где бои проходили в конце лета 1944 года.
 
  Удалось найти только один жетон из черного металла, который из-за сильной коррозии рассыпался в руках.  К сожалению, других возможностей идентификации нет. 

  Солдаты погибли не в том месте, где были найдены. В этом окопе они  были захоронены предположительно местными жителями.

У одного из них на голове была каска образца 1940 года, у другого предположительно  1935 года, которая была найдена в окопе на расстоянии 5 метров от места нахождения останков солдата.

  Оба солдата не молодые, о чем свидетельствует состояние зубов, наличие зубного протеза и коронок из желтого металла. 

   Останки были тщательно собраны и будут похоронены как неизвестные на одном из немецких воинских кладбищ в Латвии .
