Venda Prisons Service

The Venda Prisons Service (VPS) was established on the dissolution of the Venda National Force (VNF) in April 1985. It was incorporated into the South African Department of Correctional Services in 1994. A series of decorations and medals was instituted for the VPS in 1985; they became obsolete in 1994.
