Transkei Prisons Service
The Transkei Prisons Service (TPS) was established in March 1977, a few months before the homeland was declared independent. The TPS was incorporated into the South African Department of Corectional Services in 1994. A series of decorations and medals was instituted for the TPS; they all became obsolete in 1994.
