Ciskei Prisons Service

The Ciskei Prisons Service (CPS) was established when the homeland was declared independent in December 1981, and was incorporated into the South African Department of Correctional Services in 1994. A series of decorations and medals was instituted for the CPS in 1988; they became obsolete in 1994.
