| It's now 11:45 and we just got back from the venue where we've been queuing since 8:30ish. We're 23rd and 24th in line with Lisa, been chatting to fans from all over! Ireland, UK (obviously), Montreal, it's great, Germany, Italy, so we've got our spot and it's gonna rock, we heard that Lifehouse are the support too!! I just rang the woman at Universal about the tix and they're on the way, actually they're here. I was mid sentence when Michael J Fox rang (he's the concierge in case you didn't guess) and they're here to pick up. You gotta see the ticket, it has a picture, logo, it rox! Man this is so cool!!!! So we're gonna go back again soon and queue!! Crazy, crazy fans!! So I'm not taking this with me to the gig for obvious reasons, so hopefully I'll remember it all if it doesn't go all over my head! Woo Hoo!! I actually even met the chick in the line that I bought my Giants tickets off ebay, small world!!!! It's now the next morning, there is no way I coulda done this last night cause it all turned into a huge blur!! Let's go back to Tokyo Road!! So we went back and lined up again chatted to more fans, saw a scalper or a tout as they're known here as get the shit kicked out of him by someone who ripped him off, f**k, just weird. Then the day was a constant stream of homeless people coming up to us, one dude gave us a toy rabbit, thanx man, I'll cherish it, yeah, cherish it to the bin. The best guy was a dude that came over with a ghetto blaster, he was having a ball, playing it and dancing and even started chants! It was classic. He'd go away and come back, it was great. So after that, the line got messy, they eventually let us in, the front row was already full with guests of theirs but got 2nd row right in front of Richie! It was so cool! Lifehouse were the support and were cool! The boys came out and were watching the Lifehouse set on the side. Then it was time for Bon Jovi!! They came out and started with a song with Ray Davies from the Kinks and then into "Prayer" from there it just f**kin rocked! Richie saw me and gave me a nod and a wink! How cool is that!! They were having a ball, it was so f**kin good, got a good 2hrs out of em. I have never been so hot and crushed at a gig ever, I was drenched by the end of it. You can always tell it's actually hot when the band is dripping with sweat! They were so f**kin good. The new stuff is amazing, Richie was goin off!! They sounded awesome and had the best time! Todd got a drumstick and I found one of Jon's picks on the ground, Yay!! Got my T shirt and hobbled out of the venue. So in no particular order they played: "Celluloid Hero (Ray Davies)", "Prayer", "Bad Name", "Everyday", "Undivided", "Bounce", "Misunderstood", "The Distance", "Joey", "I'll Sleep when I'm dead", "Bad Medicine with Shout (what a surprise)"", "Faith", "Wanted", "Capt Crash", "It's my life", "Blood on Blood", "Born 2 be my baby", "Just Older" Great Set!!!! Went and had a beer with a few fans I know here and slowly walked back to the hotel! Called Ness back home, that was cool! Back to the hotel and saw a few fans at the bar, so I went and said Hi and they were rude. Stubby international fans! So we went back up. Lisa crashed here so we all chatted Jovies, got Dominos pizza, awesome!! And at 2:30 was time for bed! It was the best night man. I left a message for Janelle at Universal thanking her, hope she got it. 19/9/2002 So now it's the next day, Ness woke us up at 8 with a phone call, so now were getting ready to go out and see London!! Tell me it was just a dream, Shepherd's Bush September 18!! Hands down, the greatest band in the world!! Back later!! OK, what a long day! We got ready and went and had brekky. Saw a few fans in there including Jon-a-be, he looks scarily like JBJ! After that into the Underground. The Tube as they like to call it, it was actually like I was Under the ground!! Man! They told me to Mind the Gap, that confused me, until I fell between the train and the platform "Oh, THAT gap" and we emerged in Picadilly Circus! NOW I'm in London!! 1st thing we did, Virgin, then HMV, the Tower Records!! Only bought a couple of things, but was so cool, especially Tower, purely for the Jovi reference!! We had a look around the Circus and started my fun game! It's called "Let's make a Monopoly Board!" So, I took photos of every street sign that's in Monopoly. Didn't get em all, actually don't know how many I did get. But it kept me amused today! We went to Trafalger Square (Yay! Red one) and there were 16,000,000 rats with wings flying around, it was insane. From there we got some tacky souvenirs, postcards ahoy! Time for the whirlwind tour of London! 16 pounds and we went everywhere. Saw all the sites, Big Ben, Parliament, Buckingham Palace, Tower of London, went over the London Bridge! That was cool. We had a tour guide on the bus named Nick, he was awesome! He did his spiel exactly like I would, now knowing me that's scary. Yeah he was funny and just good to have! It was scary!! Back at Picadilly Circus there was this freak lady Milfton who came over to us and gave us a crappy paper flower and asked for a donation for the kids. Like NO lady! She was just some homeless lady so she nagged us and nagged us. Todd pulled out a ciggie and she mills up and says "Can I have one?", No, I said "Is that for the kids too?!" Always get the freaks!! It was classic, we actually drove past the hotel that Bon Jovi are staying in! Weird, there were about 20 fans there, we wanted to go down, but we decided not to cause we didnt want to ruin our experience! So we'll wait til Melbourne, Sydney, the OZ tour, Yay! Then off to the Hard Rock Caf for tea, the 2 Jovi fans couldn't make it so it was just me, Todd, Lisa and Todd's friend Erica she was great! Had a laugh and went to get merch. They have a thing called "The Vault" so went in and I got to hold and have my pic taken with Jimi Hendrix's guitar, Elvis' guitar, Louis Armstrong's trumpet and more, it was amazing! Such a thrill, so took a few pics and got a couple of t shirts! Got the Tube back to the hotel, took Lisa to the other tube station and back, it's so sleep time! I actually just woke up, I dozed while writing this, so I think it's time to go to bed. Check out and home 2morro, bummer. More sightseeing to do! It's just so cool!! How could I forget the following things?! We got our photo taken with a Royal Guard! You know the dudes that can't laugh or smile or anything, well them. He lives out the front of Prince Charles' place. It was funny, the poor bastard was rocking, I think he was a bit tired. Also probably tired of idiots like us standing next to him, getting their photos taken and asking "So, what's it like not being able to move or talk?" When they don't answer, it makes his point. Poor bastard. Also, do they know they look stupid? Just wondering. Let's talk about McDonalds again. I'm enjoying my Cheeseburger Sandwich and Todd got a Quarter Pounder, but wait!! It comes in one of those old fashioned, non biodegradable, polystyrafome containers! It kicks ass!! And even funnier, the little tab broke, just like it used to! Ha ha!! OK, they also have donuts! That rules!! So, back to this "Under Ground" Tube thing. The Up and Downscilators are massive, so I'm nice and stand on the left side so everyone can pass! I get in trouble cause you have to stand on the right side here and people pass on the left?! How's that work?! MUTANT!! |
