GH Fan Club Luncheon
The next day, I went to the luncheon, and browsed the tables a bit looking at auction items, photos, etc. I bought a John J. York photo, and because I was addlebrained before leaving home and only brought a purse with no shoulder strap, I bought a fanbag to put my purse and all of my swag in (YES Malissa, I now have a fanbag mock away! ;-). Rachel bid on an Alexis sweater, which she won! YAY! Heres me and Rachel with the infamous screencap 100 sweater (its Dolce & Gabbana):
A couple of us from Reckless Entanglement had a photo taken together while waiting or the event to begin and Marie gave me a photo that shed had Rick sign for me for my birthday during their studio tour. This was incredibly nice of Marie, and proved later to be the catalyst for one of my best FCW moments.
(thats Brianne, me, Rachel, Marie, Soap, and Kate)
(and its even Rick wearing the Clark Kent glasses that I adore!)
The luncheon was ok, the food was not. I loved seeing the cast gathered together, but it all went so fast. Greg Vaughan was AMAZING while auctioning off a piece of art put together by the whole cast. Jacklyn Zeman was his lovely assistant. Greg even went as far as to do a striptease if people would up their bids. He eventually got them high enough to pay for the plane ticket for a sick child needing surgery. The non-GH watching friend who went with me LOVES him now and keeps asking me about him and his character. LOL!

John J. York was the MC for the luncheon, and did a wonderful job running around and getting questions from the audience.

The highlight of the onstage portion, for me though, was seeing the Smith twins sitting in Nancy and Ricks laps the entire event. I guess because they do work with them the most, it makes sense, but whatever it was made me :-). The twins were incredibly comfortable, as they both kept sinking lower and lower and lower in their laps (especially the one with Rick) and eventually fell asleep.
I cant remember a lot of the questions that were asked during the luncheon, but Im sure theyve been covered in other recaps, Ill just post a few photos my friend Anita got of the cast on stage:
The best part of the luncheon is getting to go around to all of the tables, though its also an odd experience at the same time. Im apparently useless at these things, as I wasnt very chatty with any of them. Maybe thats good though, since they have so many people to see. I did make it to a few tables, but I completely missed Greg, Tyler, and Ted, three of the ones who were on my must see list for the weekend. *sigh* So much hotness, so little time. ;-) And by the time I got to Ricks line, he was about to leave and I missed him too. At least I had his event the next day, though I really had wanted to see him twice. I ended up seeing:
(hes just the best, they need to use him more)
(yes, I have my eyes closed and look like a geek Im still bitter about that one)
(just the sweetest, tiniest, most beautiful thing in person)
(she told me I was the cutest thing. I think she was telling that to everyone, but its still nice to hear from Cynthia Preston, lol)
Ok, so I have a Maurice Benard story now. I got in his line after Rick left and waited for a while to get my photo with him. When I got up to him, I was HOT because the area around him was crowded. I wore long sleeves because I was freezing the night before at Nancys event, but that turned out to be a bad idea. I told Maurice that he was smart to have worn short sleeves and he told me You like that, huh? Seriously, I about lmao. Thats not at all what I meant, since I was referring to the temperature in the room, but I cant say I blame him as those ARE the kinds of comments he usually gets. His arms WERE nice though. :-p I totally loved my Maurice moment and wouldnt trade it for the world.
I stood in Nancys line too, so I could get a photo on my camera and got to chat with her a little more than I did the day before.
My friend Anita stood in line behind me too, because she decided she might as well do some fan things since she was there (or at least, thats what she told me). But instead, she snuck and told Nancy I was on a trip for my birthday and that Rick had signed a birthday photo for me and she wanted to get a matching Nancy one for me. Nancy was incredibly sweet and signed it for me and went one even better and started singing happy birthday and leading the crowd around her (her line and the lines for Becky Herbst and Steve Burton) to sing happy birthday. It was great (and thanks to all of those who actually sang along)!
The last people I saw at the luncheon were the Smith Twins again. Since Id gotten both Nancy and Maurice to sign my Kristina paternity reveal magazine cover, I thought Id get the twins to sign. I ended up singing songs from Cinderella with Sarah Smith after her daddy mentioned Cinderella, and getting Emma Smiths autograph. LOL! They really are the most adorable little girls.
(Emma is the one on that cover, which is why her mom get her to sign it)
Later that day, after the luncheon, we met up with a bunch of Alexis/Ric/Sonny fans from various boards for an edit party. We watched selected scenes from the past and really just hung out, talked, and ate. It was so great to be able to meet everyone there! I wont list everyone, because Im sure Ill forget someone. Time went by so quickly, hanging with the Alexis cult. It was late before we called it a night.
