To Learn - To Serve - To Advance   -  motto of the Royal Canadian Air Cadets

Canadian Forces Reserves (Cadet Instructor's List) quasi volunteer . I spent five years involved with the Air Cadet movement. First as a volunteer, then an Officer Cadet and finally a 2nd Lieutenant. this is quasi volunteer as it included paid time when on official cadet business. Cadet activities such as community parades, rifle range training and fundraising was volunteer time.

Basic Officer Qualification Course - (10 days) - Designed to give new officers both an introduction to military life and the basic leadership and instructional tools required to train and supervise cadets.  Course content includes:

Physical and Recreation Training

Drill

Leadership

Instructional Technique

Military writing

Supply

Administrative procedures

Canadian Cadets Organizations

Officer's duties and responsibilities

Canadian Forces orders, regulations and procedures

Safety precautions for cadets

General service knowledge

Leagues and their responsibilities

 Cadet Unit Administration Officer Course  - (2 days). Designed to provide the candidate with the basic knowledge and skills necessary to carry out the duties of the cadet corps/squadron administration officer. Course content includes:

Role and responsibilities

Filing system

Documentation

Publications and regulations

Reports and returns

Attendance

Internal and external correspondence

Pay system

Claims and military writing

Cadet Unit Supply Officer Course -(2 days) - Designed to provide the candidate with the basic knowledge and skills necessary to carry out the duties of the cadet corps/squadron supply officer. Course content includes:

Role and responsibilities

Scales of issue

CF supply document

Issue and control of equipment

Write off and strike off

DA verification

Security of equipment

Cleaning contracts and temporary store

Range Safety Officer – Smallbore (2 days)  Designed to provide candidates with the knowledge and skills needed to competently and safely control a small bore range. Course content includes:

Safety

Weapons handling

Conducts a range practice
