PROJECT GOAL AND OBJECTIVES The underlying aim of this project is to re-mould the lives of war-orphaned and abandoned / street children in Moyamba District through intensive welfare services education and training with a view to building their capacity for productive and gainful future engagements. SPECIFIC OBJECTIVES In pursuit of this goal, the following specific objectives would be forcused : To provide support for the daily needs of 100 children such as food, medicines, clothing and toiletries. To provide electricity and water pumping plant as the area largely depand on wells and streams for drinking water. To provide skill-train facilities for income-generating activities such as carpentry, masonry, tailoring, bakery etc. that would enhance self-employment for the trainees and also sustain project operation. Have a farm to grow rice, vegetables to provide in the future ( poultry and animal husbandry ) Create collaborative link with relevant institution/organisation inoder to garner support for the educational needs of 100 children. To build a fence around the home as rape and theft have become common. Above all to create a conducive environment for learning, recreation and mutual co-existence for disadvantaged children. Establish micro-enterprise which can help increase income for the running of the home. PROJECT TARGETS DAILY FEEDING AND BASIC NEEDS FOR 100 CHILDREN The home through its Board of Trustee, will collaborate with partners such as food pipeline humanitarian agencies for the feeding and provision of basic daily needs such as medicines, toiletries, clothing etc for the upkeep of the children until such a time when self-sustaining income-generating schemes would have been establishd
The project focuses the construction of school buildings at Moyamba to provide a conducive learning facilities for the children as the current one is made with plastic sheets, and aree inadequate and inappropriate for the intended purpose. Fence the perimeter of the home.
Inorder to ensure proper re-integration into society, the children will be provided the opportunity of acquiring education and vocational training in diversified skills that would consequently make them self-employed, productive and self-reliant. |
