I know most of you have visited us before so you are familiar with Ruby's entrance into our 'casa' which believe it or not is now 18 months ago. Suffice to say, she's having a whale of time now she has a garden to play in and spends most of her time chasing down and beating up large stones, they don't put up much of a fight but for some reason she seems to enjoy it. She also has a fun new game to play, chasing any chickens from our neighbours garden if they foolishly decide to come and pay her a visit.

For our 'first time' visitors, this is a picture of Ruby when we found her in the street. She was about 5 months old and had been abandoned. She had a large burn on her back where she had hidden under a car and touched the exhaust pipe.

This picture was taken 6 weeks later and as you can see, Pedigree Chum and a new home certainly did the trick.

She now weighs 70lbs and hopefully has finished growing!

This is Squeak, this picture was taken when she was about 3 months old and already posing for the camera. She had a nasty accident in November 2002 when she was hit by a pickup truck and was rather poorly for a while. Our vet, Dr Miguel Angel Dominguez had to operate on her to repair her internal injuries and she also suffered a broken leg.
We think she also injured her jaw or her mouth in some way as she would not eat for nearly a month. We had to resort to babyfood and a syringe, which was an interesting project. Much of our clothing still bears the results of this experiment. She's now well on the road to recovery and is rather partial to mouses but of the computer type rather than the furry version. Favourite occupation, laying on the keyboard while you are trying to type emails.
Last but certainly not least, our third addition is Cloudycat, who we found in the street too just about a month after we got Squeaklet, in July 2002. She had been bitten by a dog and her leg was bleeding and sore. She was about 5 weeks old. We bandaged her up and she decided that she would like to stay.

Squeak didn't seem to have any objections. Ruby wanted to be friends but Cloudy was a bit wary at first, but when she realised that Ruby wasn't going to make a quick Scoobysnack out of her, she soon got over it.

As you can see, 6 months later and Cloudy has grown a bit! Squeak has kept her kitten good looks but Fatcat Cloudy is going to a bit of a monster we think.

I like to surprise them with the camera but by the looks of it they don't seem too impressed. Must try to get them to smile a bit more. Then again, this is the result when you take their photo unawares.
