Mike Wilson....The Pittsburgh Penguins have agreed to terms with free agent defenseman Mike Wilson on a three-year contract, it was announced today by General Manager Craig Patrick. In accordance with club policy, financial terms of the contract were not released. Wilson, 26, recorded one assist and 25 penalty minutes in 19 games with Florida last season. He missed the majority of the season with a shoulder injury. �Mike is a big, solid defenseman who is sound defensively with good skating and puck-handling skills,� Craig Patrick said. The 6�6� and 212 pound native of Brampton, Ontario had his best season in 1999-00 with Florida, collecting 20 points (4+16), 35 penalty minutes and a plus-10 rating in 60 games. He has played in 314 career NHL games with Buffalo and Florida, recording 55 points (15+40), 247 penalty minutes and a plus-54 rating. In 29 career playoff games, Wilson has recorded two assists and 15 penalty minutes. Wilson was originally drafted in the first round (20th overall) of the 1993 Entry Draft by Vancouver. He was traded to Buffalo by Vancouver with Michael Peca and a first round choice in the 1995 Entry Draft for Alexander Mogilny and a fifth round choice in the 1995 Entry Draft on July 8, 1995. On March 23, 1999, Buffalo traded Wilson to Florida for Rhett Warrener and a fifth round choice in the 1999 Entry Draft.
