This program stresses that the children correctly spell taught words in everyday writing, not just for tests.� In first grade, we learn to spell the 35 words most often used in writing.� Once we have learned them, they should be spelled right every time your child writes them.� |

������� To start each unit of 5 words, we take a preview quiz to find out which words we already know how to spell.� We then do different activities to practice each of the 5 words.� At the end of the unit, we take a review quiz where we write the missing words in a story.� The following day, we write dictated sentences with words that we have learned to spell.� |
