I purchased Sam about three months after loosing Ben and if any dog is able to fill his shoes Sam is it. They are similar in so many ways it is almost uncanny; temperament, looks, demeanor, need for affection, the list goes on and on. In fact they could almost be a mirror image of one another. Strange because I purchased Sam sight unseen. Sam came from Hollowshot Border Collies in Hastings, Ontario and was bred by Maxine and John Netherway who I would highly recommend as breeders to anyone looking for a quality Border Collie. They operate a sheep farm and work many of their dogs and are active in both herding trials and more recently conformation, enjoying considerable success in both, I might add. Sam is now five years of age and is a sensible and very focused dog. He is quick to learn and keen to please. He continues to do well in the agility ring where his need for speed and the limitations of his handler are his only downfall. He is of medium build and weighs approximately 54 lbs. However, watch out, at speed it is like being run down by an express train! No doubt where Zack gets all his exuberance from! Both Sam and Allie have produced some exceptional offspring to date and I am hopeful he will sire a few more litters in the years to come. He is a wonderfully good natured and loving dog.
