This site is dedicated to a little boy's fond memories of his Grandparents. It is funny the things you remember about people. My Grandfather, Papa always would give me kiss good bye and it always seemed like he was three days always from his last shave. His hands seemed to big, he never raised his voice to me no matter what a brat I was. When he was shaven, he was in a tailored suite and smelled of Old Spice cologne. My Grandfather, in my eyes he was a gentlemen, a scholar, at times he was some what of kid who like to kid around with my Grandmother. He loved to take me to YMCA to swim, or play basketball or wrestle. He loved sports and always seem to want me to try something whether it was boxing, karate, or swimming. He also had a love for music and would at times pull out his clarinet.
My Grandmother was my second Mom, in fact I am sure my Mom wound say she spoiled me rotten. The only time I ever remember her being mad is when I went out behind their house to some apartments that I had been told repeatedly to stay away from. When she caught me out there that afternoon she took a wooden spatial to me bottom with several hard clear hits that put me to tears instantly along with a scream I sure she didnt quickly forget. My Grandmother past away quickly when I was in kindergarten. I was watching Captain Kangaroo one morning after breakfast and she was making up my bed when I heard a horrible crash. I ran into my bedroom and she was on the floor unconscious. I ran screaming out to my Grandfathers office to get help. My Grandmother never regained conscience and died within a little over a week.
My Grandparents and their families where some of the first settlers, ranchers, pioneers, miners, and brave soles to come out westto the Nevada Territory. I hope you enjoy the pictures and stories. Some items are things they told me, letters they left behind, or newspaper article I have found.
