How Does CD DOCTOR Work?

95% of the problems we have with CD's are caused by something that stops the flow of information as the laser passes through the clear surface to read from the digital layer. There are usually skips or jumps of sound or image. In some cases the player may not even accept the CD. With each CD Doctor product we practice both preventive and trauma medicine. There is a prescription for most needs. It's hard to tell which is most important for you, because they all have a place with a healthy maintenance system.

Cleaning
Many things can end up on your CD's, dirt, dust, grime and even sticky little fingers. That is why we included a cleaner in our product line. CD Doctor Cleaner removes the unhealthy elements that get on your CD's and should be used on those CD's that experience a high level of handling during normal use. It contains a very small amount of micro abrasives and dispersible polymers that give a little extra power as a cleaner and surface rejuvenator. Cleaning can be done for about 15 cents. Granted cleaning is repeated, especially If a CD is used a lot, but the cost is low because cleaning also helps prevent other damage... Even to your play equipment. A 4oz. bottle of Cleaner retails for $7.99 and will treat 40 or more CD's.

Protect

CD Doctor Protect is Preventive medicine. Protect is protection and insurance for your CD's. It's not going to stop "everything" but it will reduce the need for cleaning the potential for scratching by applying a clear protective coating that is completely safe for your equipment. All you do is wipe it on with a soft cotton cloth, allow to set a few minutes and clean it off, making sure there is no white residue. And with Protect's small degree of UV blocking capability it will help the digital and mirror layer in normal light. A 4oz. bottle of Protect retails for $11.99 and treats 40 or more CD's.

GP (general practice) Repair

Is a 2-stage one-application product that reduces scratches and imparts a coating that allows a laser to read "through" damage. That is why you do not always need to find the particular scratch that is causing problems. Just the general area of damage. Yes... you can still have a scratch and the CD will play, if it's not extreme. GP alone can save 80% of damaged CD's. A 4oz. bottle of GP retails for $11.99 and will treat 40 or more CD's.

Trauma Kits 2 and 4
Our Trauma Kits include products that work together to repair even the most damaged of your CD's. The kits contain our GP and Acute. Acute is a rubbing compound. It will reduce the scratch down to the point that GP can take over. We have prepared it as a powder to which you add GP. This way it gives you flexibility to determine how much you need and how abrasive you want it. Trauma Kit 2, includes 2oz. of GP and 1/2oz. Acute which retails for $14.99. Trauma Kit 4, includes 4oz. each of GP, Cleaner, Protect and 1/2oz. of Acute which retails for $25.99.
