Hometown BBQ was started out of pride of our town, Strangeville and love for BBQ.
Our owner, Nathan Rush (pictured above), had always loved bbq. In 2010, he decided to team up with his friend and local blacksmith, Jordan Pierce, to create a custom smoker. During his stint in the BBQ competition circuit, Nathan realized that Strangeville was not just home to his family and himself, but a variety of great farms and small businesses.

So, after winning 10th place in the 20th Annual Kansas City BBQ Competition in 2016, he decided to open Hometown BBQ to help showcase Strangeville and its people.
