This is a page dedicated to some of my closest friends.
(Last names have been removed to protect these people)
This is a picture of my friends from the Spring or Summer of 1999.   From left to right are (top) Don, Eric, Jayson, (bottom) Rick, and Jesse.
I became good friends with these guys in the Spring of 1999.   I have remained friends with all of them since 1999.   Unfortunately, Eric is not with us anymore.   Eric affected all of us in a positive way.
This is a picture of one of my best friends, Daniel .   I met Dan in the Spring 1999.   We have remained friends ever since our first meeting.
Dan and I share alot of interests.   We have at some point in our friendship been interested in the same women.   The only thing is that neither one of us ever asked them  out so we both ended up without the women that we liked.
Dan came home with me for Thanksgiving during the Fall of 2000.   After we lost Eric, my relationship with Dan was made stronger because his Dad and him allowed me to stay with them during the week after Eric's death.  I love the Barney Fife poster Dan gave me for my birthday
This is Dan's cat, Buttons.    Buttons defines what a curious cat should be like.   She is constantly wondering about Dan's house checking out his guests.   She tried to bite the bottoms of my boots once.   I guess she liked the smell.
This is Dan's other cat, Mindy.    Mindy is a total opposite of her sister, Buttons.   When people come over, they ring the doorbell and just as soon as they do, Mindy darts for Dan's dad's room.   I guess that she doesn't like strangers.

About Me
Rick
Rick is the first friend that I made when I came to Commerce.   We met in a class that we took.   It was on the first day of classes that we met.    I was 19 and he was 25.
Rick and I were in the Country and Western Dancing class when we met.   We have remained friends ever since.  Rick told me about his rough past and I said "so what, Rick, you are still my friend."    I am very proud of the fact that Rick Mellem is the first friend that I made when I came to college in Commerce.
Steve
Steve is a good friend of mine that I met in the Spring of 1999.   He was a good friend of Eric's.    I became good friends with him through Eric and he comes up and visits me on an almost weekly basis.
As the picture shows, Steve is a guitarist.  He is a very good musician and can play many different instruments.   I think that he is a very talented musician.  Steve is the kind of guy that I could take with me when I needed to buy a musical instrument and did take with me when I did buy a new guitar.
Steve has a Bachelor's degree in music and was a band director for a year at a middle school in Whitney, Texas.    For all those ladies looking for a nice man, Steve is single and is available.     Steve plays some hot licks on his Martin Guitar in this picture.
Jesse
Jesse is another one of the friends that I made in the Spring of 1999.   There are not very many pictures of him, but here he is standing next to pop singer and songwriter, James Taylor.   The picture was taken after a James Taylor concert in Dallas or Fort Worth by Steve Hatton.
Jesse and Eric were inseperable for a long time.   They hung out together during the Spring of 1999 and Summer of 1999.  Jesse had to leave Commerce for a year so that he could get some things in his life straightened out.   Jesse lived at Trinity Valley Community College and took classes there for a year.   Jesse rejoined us this Spring and we are for the most part happy to have him back here with us.  He is one of the first good friends that I made in Commerce and one the first good friends that I have ever made.
Don
Don is a man that I made friends with in the Spring of 1999.    Don is originally from Casper, Wyoming.   He is working on a doctorate right now.   He decided to go to Texas for college because he doesn't know anybody in Texas.
Don has his own educational theories and is always giving me new insight into life constantly.   He is very smart and I have learned a lot from him just by being friends with him.
Don knows a lot about computers and can sometimes outsmart the Computer Science majors.   Don worked with Recreation Sports and is a very active person.   Don walked everywhere  on campus, but sometimes drove his brother's suburban.  He now lives in Abilene with Dr. Galloway.

Amber
During my time at Eckerd Drugs, I have seen and met a lot of people.   The young woman pictured to the right is Amber.  I met Amber during my first summer at Eckerds.
After working one summer, I left for college.  I had a hard time making friends while I was in Commerce despite the fact that I gave everybody I worked with my address.
Upon returning from Spring Break, during my second semester of college, I found a letter in my mailbox.   The letter was from Amber.  I was shocked by what it said and I have stayed in touch with her since then.   That was almost five years ago.
After graduating high school, Amber joined the United States Army.   She is now out of the army and was a great penpal.  She has been a truly loyal friend to me while I've been in college. It was good to hear from her two months ago and get to see her again.
Mary Elizabeth
The cute young lady to the right is Mary Elizabeth. I met Mary while I was taking a class called ETEC 424. She is one of the nicest country girls I have ever met. She always seems happy to see me because we are both so busy we don't get to see each other often.
She is one of the few girls whose parents I have met. I also have both of her parents cell phone numbers on my cell phone. I really like to hang out with Mary or her parents if she is not available.
I really got to know Mary a little when her old truck brokedown during the winter break of 2001-2002. We talked on the Internet every night. I got to know her enough to be a little bit interested in her. I'm still interested in her.
I often pick on Mary just because she is such a good sport and because she is a giiiirrrrrrrrrrlllllllllllll. I have given her a few nicknames in the time I have known her. One is squeaky from when she lost her voice once, another is shorty because she is short.  And I even call her Trouble sometimes, because I go to a lot of trouble to see her.
Mary is NOT my girlfriend. She is too busy right now to even think about having a boyfriend. She is special and I tell her I love her  almost everytime I talk to her.  I have to admit, that like most of my friends, I do get frustrated with her. Sometimes, she thinks I'm upset, but I just get frustrated sometimes and it looks like I'm upset.
