This is a picture of me from when I was in high school.  I was trying on a coat at an antique store.   I think I was in the 12th grade and my drama teacher, Ms. Little took the picture.
In High School, I participated in numerous activities.   I was a member of the National Honor Society, UIL One Act, Business Professionals of America, and the Yearbook staff.
In college, I participate in Recreation Sports, Baptist Student Ministry, The East Texan, which is our student Newspaper, and the Campus Democrats.
At college, I am a Journalism and English major.   My goal is to fight to make journalists practice journalism responsibly.  One of the things that I cannot stand as a journalist is irresponsible journalism.   The 2000 election was screwed up due to irresponsible journalism and because of Jeb Bush.
One of my causes in English is the importance of literacy.   I feel literacy not only involves being able to read and write, but also the ability to understand and make sense of what is around you.  I, like many of the other English majors, fight book banning in schools.  Since being burned during student teaching, I have decided to pursue a possible career as a rural carrier with the post office.
One thing that I love to do is to get very technical.   My friends don't love this, though.    Most of the time I have to repress my wants to get technical.  I also enjoy being very philosophical.
"Were it left to me to decide whether or not we should have a government without newspapers, or newspapers without a government, I should not hesitate a moment to prefer the latter."- Thomas Jefferson  (1743-1826)
Editor's Note:This quote is important to me because it gives an early recognition by one of the founding fathers of the United States of the importance behind the newspaper and self-expression.
This is a picture of me from when I was in UIL One Act in High School.   This picture is from my senior year after a rehearsal one evening.   We practiced every Monday through Thursday from 4:00 until 6:00.
That year we performed "Anne Frank and Me" by Cherie Bennett.   We were first at district competition but did not advance at area competition.
The play was set in two different time periods.   The beginning of the play is set in the 1990s.   We changed it to fit our needs to 1987.    The second setting is in 1940s Europe during the Holocaust.
While working on the play, we invited a Holocaust survivor to speak to some of the classes at the high school.   We also took a trip to the Holocaust Center in Dallas to learn more about the horrible events of the past.
Me and Mike
The picture to the right was taken when I was about a year and half old.  I am pictured here with my older brother who is wearing the cowboy hat.
My brother, Mike, and I used to pretend we were the Lone Ranger and Tonto.   Since I was the youngest, I had to be Tonto while he got to be the Lone Ranger.
We also used to pretend we were Batman and Robin.  I was always Robin because I was younger while he was Batman.   And we did all this while both of us wore cowboy hats, gunbelts, and my brother wore a Superman t-shirt.
For those wondering how long I have been wearing glasses, I have been wearing them since I was six months old.
I was born at St. Paul Hospital in Dallas on August 7, 1979 at 10:09 p.m.   I was very small when I was born.   I only weighed 5 lbs. and 14 ounces, but I was 5 days late.
Baby Picture
Here is one of the few baby pictures that exist of me.    As mentioned above, I was a very small baby.
The football pictured is a good example of how small I really was.   The football is one of the small ones thrown at high school and college football games.
The younger look that I have now runs through my family.   I actually look younger than I am.
Me and My Guitar
Here is a picture of me with my guitar.   I have had this guitar since March of 2002.   I get a lot of joy from playing it.

This guitar is an Alvarez RD-8.  It is pretty plain in that it does not have any electric hookups.  There are only a few pieces of plastic on this guitar.   The pickgaurd is plastic.   The other parts that look like plastic may actually be ivory.  I'm not sure.

My best friend helped me pick out this guitar.   He said that it was a good deal because it is a $200-$300 guitar and it came with a $100 hard case.   I got this thing for under $200.  It also sounds as good as some Martin guitars without the high cost that Martin guitars have.  I try to play it everyday.
