Central Italy (Pisa and Tuscany) From Florence, we rented a car and spent a few days driving through Tuscany on the way to Rome. While in Tuscany, we stayed at Palazzo Mannaioni in Montaione, near the heart of Tuscany's truffle country and not too far from the Chianti region. We also visited Pisa (famous for its leaning tower), Volterra (famous for its alabaster crafts), and San Giminiano. We sampled wonderful Tuscan dishes, many made with truffles.
