The number of beekeepers registered in Malta is around 142 and those in the Island of Gozo 112. There are only three women beekeepers in Malta and Gozo. The ages vary as follows 65% are in the bracket of 30 to 50 years, 31% are between 50 and 90 years, and 4% are under 30years.
