are among some great ones.

My History of Interest in Comics

I collected comics as a kid. Correction, I didn't collect them but rather read them avidly. I wish I collected them because now they would be worth a good amount of cash. I was mostly a spiderman fan but read others also, including vampirella the original magazine and the occassional eerie, etc.

I began buying comics again up to college when a friend of mine collected the X-men. Everyone collects the X-men. And once I got into reading them again, I began buying them again. And, taking a hint from him, I kept better care of them than I did as a kid.

Now I have a huge collection of comics, most not overly valuable. But probably a couple thousand comics.

And up to college I also got the Marvel Roleplaying Game. A good game system but with a few bugs that needed working out.

I didn't really play the game too much until I moved down to Minneapolis and met a guy who is now one of my best friends, and who also played. We revamped the game so it was more playable.

Russ and I have now been friends over 10 years, and have a very diverse campaign with not only mainstream marvel characters but also hundreds of our own. Other gaming friends of ours occassionally play but tend to be more into AD&D etc. My friend Brent has created a very very interesting campaign recently - based in the 1930's. Serial heroes like the Shadow are prevalent.
