Offline Campaigns

We currently have 3 main campaigns in progress.

MAINSTREAM CAMPAIGN

The first is our "Mainstream Campaign". It includes all the classic marvel teams like the Avengers, X-Men, Fantastic Four, etc. And most the early classic marvel history. For example, Dr Doom conquered Latvertia, etc. The Fantastic Four repelled Galactus' original visit to earth. The X-men live in a school in upstate New York and have faced off against Magneto and Juggernaut on numerous occassions. Many non-pivotal storylines have over the years been bypassed. The Onslaught and Heroes Reborn storylines so far have not occurred in our timeline.

We have introduced many many NEW teams and heroes. Early in the campaign, we played the Avengers frequently but as time went on original characters became the standard (with the occassional classic addition).

Judge Dredd

The primary character I played for a number of years was an alternate reality version of Judge Dredd. An ancestor of this version of Dredd named Hamilton Slade was targetted by an assassination squad from the future. It seems that this man was destined to found the organization that would in time become the Judges Guild. A team of Judges arrived from the future just in time to save him. They defeated and terminated the assassination squad then turned their attention to the dying Commission member. His body was badly damaged ... and in need of repair beyond their ability to render at that time. A powerful psionic member of the team transferred the minds of Dredd and the Commission member in order to save him and returned to the future. Slade awoke in the genetically enhanced body of the future judge, and found he had also gained the judge's combat skills and knowledge (though some portions of the latter were repressed by the psionic to prevent temporal changes). With a newfound sense of purpose, Hamilton Slade adopted the heroic identity of Judge Dredd and founded a freelance security company which would some day become the Judges Guild.

A number of years of roleplay ensued, during which Genosha hired the Judge's Guild to serve as primary law enforcement agency for the country which at the time was in the midst of social revision. (And so the next decade and a half of marvel Genoshan history was changed). They also served as deputized forces, much like the avengers, serving in the United States, England, and elsewhere.

Judge Blood

In one roleplay set of adventures, Dredd was seduced and killed by a coven of female vampires. He however proved immune to domination and quickly took over the group. Originally, he hoped to continue his former life, but his former allies rallied against him to slay what they no longer considered to be their friend. (A viewpoint he had himself subscribed to before becoming undead himself). He was forced underground but now more ruthless than can be imagined, he acquired for himself great powers and left this dimension entirely. He eventually allied himself with an alternate version of Dr Doom whom he aided in conquering his world. Doom then aided Judge Blood in changing time itself so that the mainstream universe was affected. After the timeline change, Dredd had never been killed by vampires. But he did mysteriously disappear some time shortly thereafter, and management of the Judges Guild was taken over by his #1 protege Marshall Law.

Judge Blood and his children and followers were not destroyed by this time change but rather became extra-temporal beings. The existed but had not past back in their home dimensions. The judge and family (called the Blood Feud) settled down to live in an alternate dimension ... millions of years in the past, a time when Mars while inhospitable had a breathable atmosphere (at least in that dimension it had). There they settled seperated from their homeworld by space, time and dimension.

Rook

Rook was a clone of Judge Blood who had turned himself in to serve time for the crimes Judge Blood had committed. He was a less powerful version than the vampire lord Judge Blood would eventually become. He was held in the facility known as the Vault. During the timeline change, Rook (along with a number of other persons Judge Blood wished to occassionally toy with) was plucked to safety then replaced after the change had occurred. The result - Rook found himself in a cell no longer designed to hold him and prompty escaped. No one remembered he had even been in there.

Rook decided to try his hand at heroics, rather than going down the dark path that his creator had done. After a number of years of play he did a great service for the Olympian gods and Hades returned him to life. Now relatively powerless without his technology, Rook fended off attack after attack upon his family. He eventually left the hero group he founded (The Redeemers) and ironically like his creator, retired to another dimension. That dimension was at a tech level only equating to the 1980's and so he made quite a fortune for himself and lived quite comfortably. Time passed more quickly in this new dimension and his children grew up. He and his wife eventually divorced and after over 20 years of retirement, he broke out his old suit and went exploring dimensionally again (faking his death). He has since settled in a universe in which Egypt never fell and eventually (in the 20th century) conquered the world. He serves the Egyptian government as a governor and, again ironically, judge.

NEW UNIVERSE

In the NEW UNIVERSE as in the Mainsteam universe, it is current times. This is a much lower powered universe. Street level characters would do fine in this world (IE : Hawkeye, Captain America, etc).

Hotrod

Our primary character in this campaign are a group of young geniuses who were recruited by a think tank university. Most were also mutants or altered humans. My primary character in this campaign is Hotrod. He is a hispanic mutant with a 50 reason (he started at the maximum 40 but has raised this - he he currently maxed out in reason). He had heat generation power, hypnotic voice and has during the course of adventuring added various devices to his arsenal. He is an avid dimensional explorered, having eventually acquired his own means of transport, and had acquired technology from a number of worlds. While he is altruistic in sharing his finds with the world, he is an incredibly hedonistic man who shares a swinger/open relationship with his wife. The other members of his team are of similar frames of mind.

Hotrod also is occassionally plucked away to serve on missions with the Exiles team. His only regret is never being able to take any technological booty, etc back with him. (lol)

1970's Campaign

It is a lower powered campaign much like our NEW UNIVERSE one. Many heroes have joined a new government agency called the IADC (Inter Agency Defense Command) which strives to use superhuman individuals to serve law enforcement and the government. Members enjoy health benefits, deputized status, living allowances and free training/education. Living accomodations are available. There are few if any teams ... alliances are usually teamups rather than a permanent team status. In the 1970's campaign, while some high tech devices can be used, they cannot be commercially released ... as this would affect the timeline.

Overdrive

My primary character in the 1970's campaign is Overdrive. He is a scientist, still recovering from the self induced lab accident that gave him his powers. He is amnesiatic and does not remember who he was before the accident. Likewise, he found in cryo storage in his lab three over individuals which he later discovered he had created. An altered human named Badrock, a cyborg named Amazon and an android named Lifeguard. He is a very "whitebread" character along the lines of Captain America. He possesses amazing strength, flight (sky walking) as well as telepathy and mind probe (unfortunately he has no psionic defenses). He is a member of the IADC. He often adventures with the character "Psiborg" - a female cyborg with telekinetic and telepathic powers.

NEW & 1970s Universe Guidelines

The maximum FASE is 150 with a maximum of 50 in any attribute (60 with advancement).
Maximum RIP is 100, with a maximum 40 reason and 50 in psyche or intuition (50 or 60 with advancement).
Maximum power rank is 60. Maximum Armor, Force Field is 40 (30 vs energy) or the reverse of 30 (40 vs energy). Maximum Psi Screen is 40.
In this way someone with an attack mode of 40 can always do damage or affect someone if they roll a red attack (which adds +1 CS to the effect).
Total of all significant powers cannot exceed 170. Powers ranked 10 or below are considered incidental, and do not count toward the total. Some powers are considered secondary and only count if their rank exceeds 20 (or in some cases 30). For example, Jumping must exceed rank 30 to be considered significant and even if it IS over 30, it counts toward the total only by the amount it exceeeds 30. Likewise, a club which adds 10 to damage when a person has a 40 strength does NOT count as 50 towards the total allowed powers, but rather as 10 points.

Other Universes

The Knight Universe : So called because Rook, under the adopted name of Jonathan Knight, settled there. It is currently about 20 years ahead of the current time ... and technology is significantly higher (due to the influx of advanced technology in the mid 1980's their time). There are NO superheroes ... and only very occassional mystic force, these being lower powered and out of the public eye. Humans here have NO x-factor.

Egyptian Universe : The universe in which Egypt never fell from power and in which they conquered the world in the mid 21st century (their major foes being the Aztec empire, which also never fell). They are about a century ahead of current technology levels. Travel to and from this dimension is HIGHLY dangerous due to monitoring by the Gods (yes, they are still active).

Necroplane 1 : A planet where all life was destroyed by Necromancers and their summoned armies of life draining wraiths. A necromancer lord skilled in science created dimensional gateways which allowed the wraiths to enter this world from their own dark dimension. They used this plane as a base with which to attack other worlds (Necroplane 2 and the New Universe). While massed to attack the New Universe earth via dozens of huge gateways, they were defeated by the hero Hotrod. He hacked into the gates programming and implanted layers of computer viruses causing massive explosions at the moment the invasion was scheduled to begin. The result devasted great areas of Necroplane1 and destroyed nearly all the wraiths and necromancers. Shield has operative strike units hunting down the remaining wraiths. These have been genetically altered with powers specifically for fighting undead.

Necroplane 2 : A planet where all life was destroyed by Necromancers and their summoned armies of life draining wraiths. Suffered a similar fate as Necroplane 1. Relatively deserted except for very occassional survivors or stranded wraiths. This planet was very low tech and had no defense against the onslaught.

Avalon : A pocket universe strong in magic and mystical beings - run by various wizards and sorceresses including their version of Merlin.

Blood Universe : The universe in which Judge Blood relocated to. No one knows what the Blood Universe of today is like. Judge Blood and his followers settled on the Mars of that dimension but settled it using time travel technology and so founded their civilization millions of years ago. Even he himself has not visited the present day time of his dimension ... for fear of meeting his future self (who is rumored to be insane and instantly destroy any living thing that enters within lightyears of his location).
