From the exit of L:6, go down a screen and jump into the water.  Swim left and screen and down a screen.
Play Manbos Mambo (song 2) on your ocarina.  If you dont have it, make your way to Crazy Tracys House in the Koholint Prairie.  Go down a screen and lift the rock.  Go down a screen and lift the rock again.  Go down 2 screens and (guess what?) lift the rock.  Go down the staircase and go down and left.  Go down 2 screens and jump over the pits using the Pegasus Boot jump.  Read the sign and it tells you to go down.  You may think down as in a general down, but the trick is to light yourself up right in front of the sign in the direction it points.  Go straight in that direction until you get to another sign (even if you cross a screen).
If you continue to do that for every sign in the following 4 screens (commonly known as the Signpost Maze), your prize will be a jam session with Mamu, the famous singing frog (oh boy)!  Enter his cave and pay him his fee of 300 Rupees.  Hell teach you his (horrible sounding) sound that awakens the dead.  With that on your ocarina (no ocarina?  Read the L:4 Quest), go back to the screen where the original sign was and jump over the pits.  Go up 2 screens and pick up the stones to enter Mabe Village.
From the screen with the Shop, go left and push the Flying Roosters grave open with the L:2 Power Bracelets strength.  Enter the cave underneath and go up a screen to see the roosters bones.  Play Mamus Song of Soul and the rooster will revive.  Itll hop after you happily.  Play Manbos Mambo to warp back to Crazy Tracys House (or just walk to itits by the Koholint Prairies Heart Piece).
Once on the screen with her house, go left and jump over the pits.  Go up 2 screens and pick up the rocks blocking the northern direction.  Go right 3 screens and go up the staircase on the top of the screen.  Pick up the rocks and enter the cave.  Hit the Hardhat Beetle into a pit and go right.  Push the rocks to make a path to the stairs on the right side of this screen.  If a Gel pops up, kill it or the lanterns will shoot fire at you.  Once you go down the stairs, go right a screen and go up the stairs.  Youll see a Heart Piece on the left side of the screen.  You cant get it quite yet, but you will.  Go right and dash through the crystals with your Pegasus Boots.  Go right and dash through more crystals.  Exit the cave.
Go right a screen.  Go down the small staircase and go right 2 screens.  This should be where you jumped off to get to L:4.  Go right a screen and climb up the ladder.  Go left 2 screens and enter the cave.  Go left when in the cave and push the rocks into the pits to form a pathway.  Hookshot across from the upper left to the upper right and go up.  Grab the Flying Rooster and fly over the giant pit.  Go left a screen and get the Bird Key.  Once its in your inventory, exit the cave and go back to the screen where you jumped off to get to L:4 (dont jump off!!)
Go right 2 screens and enter the cave.  Once through the cave, youll be on the other side of the mountain.  Go right a screen and climb the staircase up to the cave.  Get through the easy cave and youll be on top of a small mountain.  Go left and enter the cave.  Go to the stairs inside the cave and hop across the pits.  Go up the small staircase and go right.  Go down and Hookshot across the pit to the left side.  Go down a bit and jump off the ledge to the caves exit.  Once outside youll be to the right of the small mountain you were on before.  Enter the upper cave.  Ignore the Hardhat Beetle and go left.  Go to the caves exit.  Go left a screen when you reach the outside.  Lift the stones by the keyhole and unlock the rock with your key.  Eagles Tower will spin revealing the entrance.  Go in!
