From the exit of L:2, make your way back to Mabe. If you can�t remember how, use your map and remember to go through the woods and you�ll find it. From the screen with the well, go right and enter the left house. Talk to Mme MeowMeow and you�ll get kissed (AAHHH!!! Hopefully Marin doesn�t find out!). You�ll lose Bowwow, too. Exit the house and go right until you get to the screen with loads of bushes. Go up and buy the Shovel from the shop for 200 rupees. When you buy it, leave the shop and go 2 screens right. The thing you see is a warp hole. You�ll use them a lot during your journey. There are 4 in all�Tal Tal Mountain Range, Ukuku Prarie, Tal Tal Heights, and East of Martha�s Bay. Once you see one, it activates so you can use it. Well, now go down 2 screens. You�ll see the entrance to L:3. Go down and right. Go down a screen and enter the house. Talk to the man (Richard) and he�ll ask you to find a gold leaf from his old castle. Agree and you�ll find out that there are 5 in all, not 1. Exit the house and go right a screen, up 2 screens, right a screen, and up 2 screens. You should see a telephone booth. Go right a screen and up a screen.
If you haven�t met the Photo guy yet, do so! There is a photo here that is temporary. Look around the place where you got Bowwow to find it. After the photographer takes the first picture, he�ll appear all over the island to get more pictures. Approach the drawbridge on the screen and you�ll get a photo. After it�s taken, go right 2 screens. Trade the bananas you got from the trading sequence (see the Trading section for help) for access to Kanalet Castle. Go up a few screens until you can go left. Go left and cut the strange bush to discover a staircase. Enter and go through the underground tunnel until you come up in the castle.
Go right and down from the tunnel�s exit. There will be a lot of pits on this screen. A knight will come out of random holes and chuck a bomb at you. Hit him with your sword until he dies. When you hit him, he won�t throw a bomb, so don�t worry. After he�s gone, a Gold Leaf will pop out. Take it and go down and left. This screen has the main entrance to the castle, but we�re not done outside yet, so go left and up a screen. Kill the guard there and pick up a stone. Throw it at the crow on the tree and it�ll fly at you. Destroy the crow and a gold leaf will fall. Take it and return to the castle entrance a screen down and a screen to the right.
Enter and go left. Destroy all the enemies on this screen (except the Anti-Faerie) and a Gold Leaf will fall. Take it and go up. Fend yourself off the guards and go right. Step on the switch ONLY if you got the picture from the Photo Guy at the drawbridge. The button lifts the drawbridge, disabling any chance of getting the photo if you don�t have it yet. Anyway, go up the stairs and to the left a screen. Go up the staircase.
See those two weird things on the wall? They have guards encased in them. Bomb the left one and kill the guard for a Golden Leaf. If you have no bombs, you return after you get the next Golden Leaf. After you get the 4th leaf or not, go right, down, and left. Exit the building and enter the opposite entrance of the castle roof. Inside, the door will slam shut immediately. Pick up a pot and throw it at the door to open it. If you search the pots, you�ll find a bomb and a heart. Take the bomb at least and if you never got the 4th Golden Leaf, go back and get it now. When you get the 4th or if you�ve had it, go up into the next room. Defeat the guard with the mace and you�ll get the final Gold Leaf!
Exit the castle and go out via the drawbridge (if it�s down). Go back to Richard�s Villa (down, left, down, down, left, down, down, down, left) and give Richard the leaves. He�ll move so you can push a box. Push it and enter the cave. Go left in the first branch if you want a Secret Seashell. Go right and you can continue to find the L:3 key. Go through the stairs and exit the cave. You�ll emerge in a vast field of bushes. Carefully cut your way through the bushes to find a path to an owl statue. Dig right below it and you�ll get the Slime Key! Return to the outside of Richard�s Villa and go up, up, left, up. Unlock the bars and go around to the water. Hop from island to island until you get to the level�s entrance. |
