From the starting house, hop out of bed and talk to the guy on the right (Tarin). He�ll give you your shield that washed up on the beach. Exit and go left 2 screens. Go down until you�re on the beach (you�ll be on sand). Go right and push the Urchins with your shield. Find your sword on the beach and you�ll get an explanation from a mysterious owl. Once you have your trusty blade, return to Mabe Village (where you began).
This time, from the well 2 screens left of Marin and Tarin�s house (the starter house), go up. Cut the bush so you can enter the forest. The owl will reappear and tell you to try to find the key for L:1. Go up a screen and right 2 screens from where you were told the message. Enter the cave. Get the chest and go up. Kill the gels and go left. Push the stones so you can get to the exit. Exit the cave and you�ll see a mushroom on the left. Grab it and go back into the cave. Exit outside the other end. From there, go up 2 screens and right 2 screens. You�ll see a Piece of Heart surrounded by pits. Go down 2 screens and right a screen. Enter the hut here and give the witch your Magic Powder. She�ll turn it into Magic Powder.
Exit the hut and go back to the cave that led you to the mushroom (don�t go through it, go to the screen where you first saw it). Go left a screen and up 2 screens. Sprinkle Magic Powder on the raccoon and it�ll fly around the screen, revealing itself to be Tarin. He�ll head home, so go up and open the chest. You have the Tail Key! After reading the owl�s message, go back to the screen with the well on it in Mabe Village.
From here, go down 2 screens and right 3 screens. Go to the bottom part of this screen and go left. Go down and to the right. Unlock the entrance to L:1 by stepping up to the statue that has a keyhole. After it opens, enter into Level 1. |
