Jainism

Jain is derived from the word  ‘jina’  a person who conquers his inner memories and bring out his highest qualities. According to jain philosophy, Adinath was founder of Jainism .Modern Jainism is based upon the teachings of Bhagwan Mahaveera , the twenty –fourth and last tirthankara or prophet of Jainism , who was born in 598 B.C. Jainism rests on four main principles :

Non-violence ,ahinsa in its broader sense ,including non-violence non only in action but also in speech and in thoughts.
Relativity in thinking, anekantwad the belief that there is no one truth, but rather that truth has many aspects which are represented by different standpoints
Non-aquistion, aparigraha the principle of limiting possessions and requirements, including avoiding the possessive attachments of other people as well as material goods.
The Law of deeds or actions, karma which states that we are all responsible for our own past words, thoughts, deeds and that we each may shape our own futures with positive thoughts and action.
