A somewhat cocky and self-assured man, Cloud is no one to be triffled with. Though he comes off as the as the type that would never put himself on the line for another, that is rarely the case. While keeping a stonic mask in place, he would rescure babies from burning buildings and kittens from trees.
Often quiet and thoughtful, some may even consider him shy, or even anti-social. Though what few friends he keeps, he holds dear above all else, perhapes even as silent mental saviors of his sanity.

After the war with Sephirith had finally reached an end, the both mentally and physically exhausted part decided to go their own seperate ways Deeply troubled by the knowledged gained about his past - or lack there of - Cloud decided to set off on a mission of self-discovery; his next destination his hometown of Nibelheim. To the very same ShinRa mansion Sephiroth had barred himself into, to the same book shelves and writtings, he uncounted months researching and studying for any scap of information he could find.

He was not to be disappointed. In the deepest, darkest depths of the library he found a text with writtings about the Sephiroth cloning experiment In this, he read that he was indeed a key part, but not as Sephiroth and Hojo had told him. A living, breathing Human being, a new recuite into ShinRa, named Cloud Strife, had been used in the last stages, exposed to high measures of Mako energy, wiping their memory clean and mutating the gene structure.

The entries went on to explain in further depth the step-by-step process and why such extreme measures were taken...But Cloud merely glanced at them before closing the book. He was real...And that was all that mattered.

Cloud first encountered the part of hero while aiding the resistance group known as AVALANCHE. He was, then, a freelance mercenary, working odd jobs to make ends meet. Even the gentle encouragement of his childhood friend, Tifa Lockhart, who also worked in the resistance, could convince him to one side or the other of the conflict.
Upon a chance encounter with the young flower mercent, Aeris, however, Cloud finds himself thrown into a world crafted not only political lies, but secret scandals and hidden truths of his own past as well as those of his friends. Who is he really? Was everything he knew, everything he thought he had grown up believing, a lie? And who is this supposedly dead legondary swordsman Sephiroth tied in?
